Globe trotting engineer opens fire and security branch in Guildford
After over 20 years of travelling the world working in the oil and gas industry, engineer Luke Smith has returned to the UK and opened the Guildford branch of Jackson Fire & Security. Based in Guildford, the branch will operate throughout Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
As a chemical process engineer Luke (45) has worked all over the world in the Middle East, Far East, New Zealand and Germany. Latterly he worked for Petrofac in UAE as Principal Processing Engineer. However, he was looking for a change of direction and a more stable career path given the recent volatility of the oil and gas markets.
“I looked at various opportunities and Jackson Fire and Security stood out. They are well-established with a great brand and fantastic reputation in the industry. The company provides a vital service which people need to protect their property and businesses. It also gelled with my previous experience and allows me to utilise a lot of the engineering and health and safety knowledge I already had.”
